Trump Announces $500 Billion AI Initiative: Stargate
U.S. President Donald Trump announced a massive private sector investment of up to $500 Billion to build infrastructure for artificial intelligence in a new company called Stargate. Joined by top business leaders, SoftBank Group CEO Masayoshi Son, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Oracle Corp. Chairman Larry Ellison, Trump said, “Stargate will be building the physical and virtual infrastructure to power the next generation of advancements in AI,".
Trump described Stargate as a transformative initiative to secure U.S. dominance in AI, emphasizing the importance of retaining advanced technology domestically amid global competition, while creating over 100,000 jobs.

Oracle’s Larry Ellison focused on AI’s potential to revolutionize healthcare, from improving electronic health records to enabling early cancer detection and vaccine development and He highlighted how AI can empower doctors to make more informed decisions by analyzing vast amounts of medical data.
The executives expressed their appreciation to Trump for making the initiative possible. "This decision wouldn’t have been made," Son remarked, "if you hadn’t won." Altman echoed this sentiment, saying, "Building AGI—advanced artificial general intelligence—wouldn’t be achievable here without your support, Mr. President."
SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son praised the U.S. as the ideal place for AI investment, describing this era as a “golden age.”
Stargate represents a major leap forward in AI infrastructure, aiming to enhance U.S. competitiveness, create jobs, and drive advancements in critical areas like healthcare.
