Node.vc Launches €71M Fund to Boost Startups
Swedish entrepreneur-led VC firm Node.vc has successfully raised €71 million for its first fund, setting its sights on startups in the Nordics and Baltics. With a unique founder-backed approach, Node.vc aims to revolutionize the European venture capital scene by focusing on operational experience and industry expertise.
Entrepreneurs Backing Entrepreneurs: Node.vc joins the rising trend of founder-led VC firms in Europe, following the likes of Switzerland’s Founderful and Italy's Founders Fund. Their team consists of entrepreneurs, such as co-founder John Elvesjö of Tobii, who bring hands-on operational experience to the table.
€71 Million Fund: With €71 million to invest, Node.vc is ready to deploy capital into innovative startups in the Nordics and Baltics, focusing on sectors where the region excels.
Institutional Investors: Institutional investors like Saminvest, Sweden’s fund-of-funds, and the life and pension arm of Nordic bank Nordea have also backed the fund. Their involvement was critical for the fund’s success, especially for a first-time VC.
Investment Strategy: Node.vc plans to back seven startups annually, writing entry tickets averaging €1.3 million, with the ability to invest up to €10 million in a single company if needed.
Node.vc is making a substantial impact on the startup ecosystem in the Nordics and Baltics. Their entrepreneurial experience, coupled with a strategic investment approach, makes them a key player to watch as they support the next generation of startups.
