Mission Zero Technologies, founded in 2020, specializes in cleantech direct air capture (DAC) technology. Mission Zero Technologies has secured £21.8 million in Series A funding.

  • Funding Details: The funding round was led by 2150, with participation from World Fund, Fortescue, Siemens Financial Services, and Breakthrough Energy Ventures.
  • Technology Overview: Mission Zero’s DAC technology mimics biological processes to capture atmospheric CO₂ in its organic form. It uses electricity and a liquid solution for CO₂ capture, with an electrochemical separation process that continuously regenerates the capture solution and concentrates CO₂ as a pure gas. The technology is designed for scalability and cost-effectiveness, even at smaller scales.
  • Future Goals: Aims to develop a mass deployable DAC product that recovers 1,000 tonnes of atmospheric CO₂ a year. Plans to flexibly scale up to unlock megatonne annual capacity by the end of the decade.
  • Impact: Mission Zero Technologies seeks to democratize access to sustainable, circular carbon and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

This funding will enable Mission Zero to accelerate the development of their DAC technology, furthering its goal of delivering climate impact at scale.
