Edamama, an innovative online-to-offline (O2O) platform designed to support parents in the Philippines, has successfully secured its Series A+ funding round.

  • Who’s Got Their Back: The fundraising round was led by ACTIVE Fund, an initiative by Ayala Corporation Technology Innovation Venture. The Series A+ funding round saw participation from both existing and new investors, including Kickstart VenturesGentree FundInnoven Capital, and South Korea’s GS Group. With this round, Edamama has raised an impressive total of over $35M in capital.
  • Expansion Strategy: The fresh capital will fuel Edamama’s ambitious expansion plan, with a focus on its offline retail presence across the Philippines. The company has already tested the market with pilot pop-up stores in Robinsons Magnolia and Robinsons Manila malls, and is set to open a new store at Ayala Vertis North by the end of the year.
  • Strengthening Collaboration: Co-founder Nishant D’Souza emphasizes the company’s aim to enhance its collaboration with the Ayala ecosystem, unlocking further synergies across the Ayala Malls network as it rolls out more physical stores nationwide in the coming year.
  • New Appointments: Edamama announced four significant appointments, including Miguel Fernandez to the Board of Directors, and Rohan Aggarwal, Rachit Gupta, and Donna Manalastas as Chief Commercial Officer, Senior Commercial Director, and Offline Retail Director respectively.
  • Background: Edamama launched in 2020 with a mission to empower parents and caregivers by providing a comprehensive range of curated products and services tailored to modern families’ needs. Since its inception, the digital-first platform claims to have delivered over 3.5 million products to families nationwide.

The new funding follows a $20M Series A round in August 2022, led by Alpha JWC Ventures. This latest investment underscores Edamama’s commitment to providing an industry-leading experience for parents in both the digital and physical retail realms.
