Augmentus, the creators of a no-code robotics platform aimed at transforming industrial automation, recently secured $5M in a ‘Series A’ funding round.

  • Key Objectives: Augmentus has clear plans for its funding. The main objectives are to scale operations beyond Singapore’s borders, with a US office slated to open by the end of the year to cater to its growing customer base there.
  • Funding Details: The $5M Series A funding round was led by Sierra Ventures and Cocoon Capital.
  • Founders: Daryl LimVoon Foo Chong, and Yong Shin Leong launched Augmentus in 2019 with the vision to democratize robot programming. They aimed to make it easily accessible, even for those without any prior robotics experience.
  • The Augmentus Solution: Augmentus utilizes cutting-edge technology including 3D cameras and AI. This platform captures spatial details and generates optimized routes for robots to efficiently perform tasks, even on complex surfaces and with part deviations.
  • Customer Base: Since its commercial launch a year ago, Augmentus has successfully attracted 30+ high-profile customers, including heavyweights like Hyundai, Johnson & Johnson, and Singaporean engineering firm ST Engineering.

By 2024, Augmentus aims to triple its customer base to 90 and deploy its system to nearly 200 robots.

To fuel this growth, they will depend on the Augmentus System Partner program, which collaborates with system integrators and solution providers to develop robotic stations. This program primarily targets manufacturing companies and offers reseller discounts to partners.
